During our initial session, I will initiate a dialogue to address the problems you are struggling with. I use assessment and diagnostic tools to narrow in on a potential diagnosis and develop an initial treatment plan. I wish to thoroughly understand the issues that you are having so I can develop a strategy to meet your individual needs. I want to listen to you in a calm and comfortable setting, so we can discuss what is needed moving forward in the management of treatment.
I always look to establish a comfortable and compassionate relationship with my patients so that they can help me get to the root of the issues they are having. I want to get to know you as a person, rather than a set of problems. My ability to listen to my patients is of the upmost importance in understanding the issue at hand and how to manage it. I aim to gain their trust as I recommend clinical strategies to improve quality of life.

Interpersonal
I have consistently utilized an interpersonal approach with the clients I have treated over the past four years as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I believe therapeutic communication is a necessary part of the relationship a clinician develops with a person seeking treatment for mental health problems. Interpersonal communication assists in the diagnostic process, as well as developing an individualized treatment plan for each client. Psychoeducation
I believe in the importance of providing education to clients and delegated participants in the treatment team. In my experience, the chance of reaching targeted goals of the treatment plan include a clear understanding of the diagnostic process, mechanism of the specified mental health disorder, and ideal results of medication management. The source of my knowledge comes from my acute care medical experience as a Registered Nurse since 2007. I have since received my Master of Science in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing and have been nationally credentialed as a Board Certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2020.

Chelsea is truly the best psychiatrist I've ever worked with! She does such a great job communicating that she trusts me to communicate properly what it is that I need from my care and she is beyond encouraging. 10/10 have and would recommend her to anyone and everyone! I've been with her since 2023/early 2024 including through periods without insurance and she's great at working with me and my circumstances no matter how they change.

Been seeing Chelsea for a few months, and I just love her. She’s genuine, understanding, and listens with grace. She knows what’s she doing and does it well. Highly recommend her.
