What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will discuss the reason for wanting to start counseling services. We will also discuss what you plan to get out of counseling. We will also talk about how the counseling session will be conducted.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I like to use an integrative approach where I will use tools and methods from various therapeutic strategies that are customized to the individual client. For example, I like to use tools and strategies from Cognitive Behavior therapy, Reality therapy, and Brief solution-focus therapy. These are just examples of some of the therapies I like to utilize. I understand that each person is unique and their situation is unique as well.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is developing a therapeutic relationship with my clients. I think that this is the most important aspect of the counseling process. I want my client to feel comfortable while in session. The counseling session is for the client to obtain assistance in a situation they may be having issues dealing with on their own. It is important that I as the therapist, that provide a safe nonjudgmental environment to promote a strong therapeutic relationship.
