Hi there. I feel very lucky to be able to help others achieve the life they are yearning to have. I use CBT, DBT, ACT and Imago to both individuals and couples better understand themselves, identify the barriers that are leading to their frustrations and feelings of anxiety and depression and identify solutions to overcome these barriers, so clients can find the joy and peace they most desire in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I ensure that I have a thorough understanding of the issues that led to the client deciding to seek out therapy and the goals they have for our sessions. Additionally, I will make sure that we also review some techniques they can begin to practice until our next session so they can start to experience some relief of their symptoms.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My clients report that they find me empathetic, insightful, direct, and able to provide them with a wealth of techniques to help them successfully reach their goals. I use warmth, humor and encourage self-acceptance. I help clients to accept themselves where they are and focus instead of learning the skills they need to move forward. And then we celebrate the wins together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have significant training in CBT and use that and Trauma Focused-CBT in my practice to help clients identify beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve the client well and are creating barriers in their lives. by using techniques like thought challenging and thought replacement, clients can control their paths and make changes that lead them to the outcomes they want but have not been able to achieve up to this point. This technique is highly effective in addressing anxiety, stress management, depression, job stress, partner and relationship issues, and parenting issues.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have significant training in DBT and use it in treating anxiety and depression. The focus of this treatment model is using techniques such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This model also has significant research showing its effectiveness.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have significant training in this model which is a combination of behavior modification and CBT. It focuses on paying attention to your own self talk and instead of avoiding painful emotions or psychological experiences because the avoidance actually leads to more distress. By identifying personal values, committing to taking action to align with those, and being very mindful of these behaviors, clients can change their attitudes and emotional states.

Imago Relationship Theory

I have significant training and experience in using Imago Couples Therapy treatment techniques to help couples and individuals who are struggling in their relationships to gain understanding, create empathy, remove negative hurtful language and create a safe emotional environment to be able to realize the kind of relationship that the client/s have always wanted.
