I truly look forward to meeting you. I feel excited every time I meet with a new client. It is the beginning of a journey we take together. It is an interpersonal and authentic relationship in which it is safe for you to discover your fullest potential. I am kind and caring but will also encourage you to look more deeply into your blind spots. I believe in respect, kindness and humor. I treat my clients as human beings, not as a diagnosis. I especially enjoy working with individuals feeling that something from their past is holding them back. And with couples who are feeling stuck. I love helping clients to find true happiness. I am interpersonal and strengths-based. I offer unconditional positive regard and also an ability to help you to see what is blocking your growth and your happiness. You are not a diagnosis. You are a human being. I know that it is hard to make that first call. It is worth it. I truly look forward to hearing from you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first several sessions, we will get to know one another. I will ask many questions about your background and what brings you to therapy. You will get to know me and my style and are free to ask me questions. We will build our relationship and come up with your therapeutic goals together. We will regularly check in about how you are feeling in therapy and adapt our work together accordingly. We will build trust and a foundation and a safe place for you to grow.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use a variety of therapeutic modalities and also incorporate the lessons I have learned over the past twenty years. I do not come from a disease-based model, it is strengths-based. I follow and practice psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, Gottman techniques, Hendrix techniques and mindfulness practice.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strength is my ability to deeply understand each individual/couple I work with. I adapt my skills to meet your needs. I have a special understanding of addiction and codependency. I am also conscious of and we will discuss societal challenges such as homophobia, sexism, classism and racism.
