I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. I am trained to help with processing trauma and relieving negative symptoms such as panic attacks, nightmares, anxiety and depression. I also have several years experience working with individuals that are severely mentally ill, struggling with issues related to psychotic disorders, Bipolar disorder, major depression and more. I have experience working in addiction and recovery. I have experience as a Christian/Biblical counselor as well. With a warm, accepting, and nonjudgmental approach, I want to help you understand why you struggle with what you struggle with and help you find freedom.
I begin by helping you establish helping skills to manage symptoms while giving you a space to share your experiences. I will help you gain insight into symptoms and behaviors that are keeping you stuck and help you move past them into more helpful and beneficial ways of thinking and acting. I will teach and expose you to many different coping skills until we find the ones that are best and most effective for you. Together we will develop a treatment plan to help you achieve the goals that you hope to accomplish with your time in therapy.
I am trained in CBT, motivational interviewing, training, mindfulness practices and management of anxiety and panic.
I have found great success in helping clients quickly overcome anxiety and panic. I have many resources to help you establish and maintain healthy relationships and improve the quality of your current relationships.
