I have been working with individuals, couples and families for 13 years. I specialize in anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, codependency, and addiction. In therapy, I create a warm inviting space for clients to explore the issues that are causing them stress, sadness, anger or dissatisfaction in their lives. I am good at identifying ways to help clients address the issues that are specific to them, develop new skills, and find solutions that work in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will create an open and welcoming space for a client to explore the issues that are bringing them to therapy. I will answer any questions a client has, and describe the ways I think I will be able to help them. I think together with the client about what they are hoping to achieve in therapy, and develop an understanding of how we will work together to achieve their goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a warm and inclusive approach. I have been told by clients that I am easy to talk to, and that they feel that I genuinely care about them (which I do). I am knowledgeable and confident, but also kind and humble in my work. I have deep compassion and respect for anyone wanting to come to therapy to improve their lives. My work is directed at empowering a client, supporting them, and helping them resolve the issues that they need help with.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in helping people heal from major stressful life events, work through relationship conflict, and address feelings of anxiety and depression. I am a trauma specialist and I am EMDR trained, and IFS informed. I specialize in recovery from narcissistic childhood and adult abuse. I have a depth of experience working with individuals, couples and families needing support in navigating the changes and challenges life brings. I know it can be hard to start therapy and to ask for support. It's the bravest and best thing you can do for yourself and those in your life. I promise to do my very best to make the process of coming to therapy something that feels supportive and helpful. I will join you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a well known therapeutic approach to helping people who are living with troubling memories that are effecting them now, (even though the painful or scary event happened in the past). EMDR uses a whole body approach to assist in healing. Respected studies have shown that EMDR is effective in helping people achieve freedom from difficult memories and the ways these memories are effecting a person's relationships, work and sense of joy and peace. I have personally seen incredible results in clients I have used EMDR with.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is an incredibly powerful tool that helps a person identify parts of themselves that may be contributing to difficult thoughts, feelings or behaviors. Using this method, I help clients identify, and heal these parts so that they can experience more freedom in their lives. This approach is also great for reducing anxiety, tackling the inner critic or perfectionist, addressing procrastination, people pleasing behaviors, or the need to control the actions of others.

Psychodynamic

I use the psychodynamic approach to look at how past relational experiences have shaped a person and may be holding a person back in being fully who they are in their relationships. By doing this, I am able to help clients change patterns and engage in more fulfilling relationships. This approach helps clients who are struggling with issues with intimacy, codependency, narcissistic abuse, or who find themselves repeating unhealthy relationship patterns.
