About me

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. I’m Jessie Presbie, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Massachusetts with over 10 years of experience working with children, adults, couples, and families. I believe that reaching out for therapy can be both difficult and incredibly meaningful. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply know that something needs to change, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and begin moving forward with greater clarity and confidence. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I don’t believe there is a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. I want to understand your story, your relationships, your strengths, and what matters most to you. Together, we’ll work to better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful change that feels realistic and sustainable. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, feel genuinely heard, and show up as your authentic self, without judgment. Whether you’re working through anxiety, relationship or family challenges, a major life transition, or simply feeling like you’re struggling to find your footing, I’m here to support you. Taking that first step can feel intimidating, but you’ve already taken an important one by being here. I’d be honored to learn more about you and help you move toward feeling more connected, confident, and at ease in your life. Jessie Presbie, LMFT

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we’ll start with brief introductions and spend some time getting to know one another. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where you feel heard and can begin to feel at ease. From there, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore the challenges you’re currently experiencing, and begin identifying your goals for our work together. We’ll also start thinking about what you hope to gain from therapy and how I can best support you along the way. There’s no need to have everything figured out before we meet. I’ll guide you through the process, and we’ll take it one step at a time.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Through my experience working with both children and adults, I’ve had the opportunity to develop and strengthen a versatile set of clinical skills that allows me to effectively support individuals, couples, and families. These experiences have helped me develop a flexible and collaborative approach, allowing me to meet each client where they are and tailor therapy to their unique needs and goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults who are eager to work on their goals, but don't yet have the tools needed to accomplish them.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I have worked closely with children and family for over 10 years. When working with children and caregivers, I work closely with the family to support and build a positive and healthy parent child relationship. When working with adults, I will provide support with processing and overcoming any challenges related to early childhood attachment issues.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When using CBT, I focus on providing psycho-education and support with acknowledging and reframing negative thinking patterns, in order to experience an increase in positive outcomes.

Couples Counseling

My concentration is in marriage and family therapy, and when working with couples my main goal is to support partners with more effective and supportive communication, in order to more effectively resolve conflict or face challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

When utilizing DBT, I work closely with clients to focus on emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills, mindfulness strategies and effective interpersonal skills.

Strength-Based

With strength based treatment, the goal is to support clients with reframing any identified challenges and/or weaknesses into strengths. This approach focuses on resiliency, and identifying someone's strengths rather than their deficits.
