Hello - I am a psychotherapist, based in California, I hold a license in Marriage and Family Therapy (an LMFT). I received my master's degree from National University of San Diego, CA and have been practicing since 1996. I help adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, addiction issues and relationship issues while helping them to become the best version of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an exploratory assessment, where we review what led you to therapy, along with who raised you, who were your primary influences in your life, what are your accomplishments, strengths and who are your supports. I will use this background information to formulate with you, a viable treatment plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am intuitive and good at reading a room, so to speak. If I sense that my client is not comfortable with anything, I am flexible and quick to find alternative ways to help client contain what they are not ready to deal with while being supportive in helping to encourage them toward their own personal goals for therapy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

those struggling with: - anxiety/Generalized Anxiety Disorder - Major Depressive Disorder - ADHD - codependency issues - addiction issues (specialty focus on Opioid Use Disorder). - grief and loss - life transitions of all kinds - divorce, empty nesters, career changes, disability, retirement, etc. - PTSD/trauma -couples counseling/relationship issues -dysfunctional family of origin issues

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The primary therapy modality I use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as gathering positive aspects from Solution Focused therapy and trauma therapy. CBT helps people find patterns in the way they think about themselves and the things that happen to them. CBT seeks to help one learn to identify and move past any dysfunctional cognitions (thoughts) we are holding onto. I help clients to adopt positive interpretations and a better way of thinking about themselves that is freeing. Clients find they can better manage stress, anxiety and depression.
