My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

TFCBT helps client to learn skills to cope with the emotions and memories that can come from being in a traumatic situation. The end goal is the help the client live in a victorious nature by teaching them that they can live and overcome the things that have happened to them in life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice since I became a counselor. I use CBT to help clients identify their thoughts and how these thoughts relate to feelings and behaviors. Being able to control your thinking may help you to improve your overall well-being.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients with emotion regulation. DBT skills use acronyms that are easy to remember to help you to maintain focus on how to calm yourself when you get dysregulated. This method is great for individuals who deal with anxiety, anger, and emotions that can cause the individual to become overwhelmed.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing creates a supportive relationship between the therapist and the client with the goal of helping the client develop a reason for change. The premise is that the client will become empowered to take positive proactive steps in dealing with their problem or situation.
