I am a licensed professional counselor looking to help others find their full potential by using an eclectic approach to therapy. If you find yourself aimlessly scrolling through profiles in search of an authentic therapist, I may be a great fit for you. I find that being authentic with clients is what helps them build a foundation and feel safe enough to share their issues and concerns. I practice from a person-centered approach while mixing in elements of CBT to help clients guide their treatment while also holding them accountable. I specialize in the use of art therapy to help clients communicate and process various topics that may be difficult to speak about. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, issues with substance abuse, or relationship issues, I'm here to help. Seeking treatment can be difficult, but if you've already taken this first step in searching for a therapist then you've likely already identified that this is something you can benefit from with the right help. If you've been reading this far and I seem like a good fit for you, let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to build rapport after their first few sessions with me. Creating a safe space for healing is my first step with each client. I want each person to feel like they have built a solid foundation and that they have learned and implemented healthy coping skills before they start to dig deep. Clients can expect to work on heavier topics after the first few sessions with me, or when they feel comfortable. I often tell clients to expect things to come up in the first few sessions, especially when utilizing art therapy, that they did not anticipate work on. For this reason, it is helpful to plan out your day accordingly and take some time after the session to process or use healthy coping skills.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I specialize in the use of art therapy as a treatment method. This helps clients process and talk through issues that they may not have been aware of. Art therapy can also help clients communicate difficult topics to their therapist. I utilize the person-centered approach that allows clients to direct their treatment. I believe that each client is an expert in their own life, and I am there to guide them rather than give advice. I use CBT as a way to help clients restructure thought patterns that may have caused harm in the past. I practice from a trauma-informed approach that allows me to tie in trauma work with other interventions I may be using with clients.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is to be able to tie art therapy into my treatment approaches. Art therapy can help clients tap into their unconscious and become more aware of things they may need to work on in therapy. Another strength that I have is a background in training in multicultural competency, allowing me to specialize in treatment according to each client's lens through which they view the world. It is not your job as a client to tell me what it is like to walk in your shoes, it's my job as a therapist to do the research and better understand what life looks like from your specific lens to better help you meet your goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients who are 18+, clients struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse or maintaining recovery, trauma.
