Hello I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I hold a clinical license in both California and Washington state. I received my degree from the California State University of Northridge and have over 5 years of experience supporting clients. I have worked with numerous populations such as victims of domestic violence, unhoused, elderly etc. I currently work mostly with BIPOC adults living with depression, anxiety and perinatal mood and anxiety disorder. I use a mixed model approach but I always lead with empathy, compassion and unbiased active listening.
In our fist session it is all about building rapport and a therapeutic alliance with you. I will ask questions to identify your current stressors, impact on your daily functioning and goals you will like to work towards during our time together. You are the expert in your life and journey.
Compassion, listening, non-judgmental and providing a safe space to be your authentic self.
I utilize this approach to foster empowerment within my clients. Using this perspective allows for clients to identify their current skills, build upon those said skills, utilize their resources all while obtaining new skills to aid with their journey. We all are capable of greatness!
Mind-body connection is key. I use this modality to aid my clients with identifying how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected. If we don't feel good mentally then then most everything else will follow suite.
Straight and to the point! This modality is useful for those who may have limited time or just wants to get focus on the solution rather then the problem/concern.
