Welcome! I'm Laura Stevens. Are you feeling like the weight of the world is on your shoulders? Are you feeling like your thoughts are running constantly and that you can't catch a break? Do you feel alone or like your relationships are struggling? I help people identify how they're feeling physically and emotionally by meeting them where they are, and offering safety, support, and encouragement so that together we can create new and renewed ways of living. Seeking therapy is often scary, but ultimately can be very rewarding and worth the time and effort. It is my goal to help you feel comfortable and supported so that you feel safe to share what's going on for you and learn new ways of thinking, to ultimately live a more satisfied life with more confidence and healthier relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will have brief introductions and then talk more about what brings you to counseling so that we can work together to identify your personal counseling goals. It is is my initial goal to help you feel safe, heard, and validated in sharing your story so that you feel more at ease beginning your counseling journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am often told by my clients in session or in their reviews that I really work hard to understand where they are in the moment and offer support, encouragement, and help so that they can continue to make progress toward their goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In session will will work together to identify your thoughts and feelings and how they impact your choices, actions, and responses to yourself and others. I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It’s helped several people challenge reoccurring thoughts and better manage their thought and emotions. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to adjust your thinking patterns, which will help you feel better.
