My treatment methods

Existential

Existential psychotherapy focuses on exploring the human condition as a whole. It addresses fundamental issues such as meaning, freedom, isolation, and mortality. This approach helps individuals confront and make sense of these existential concerns, encouraging them to live more authentically and purposefully.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of different "parts" or subpersonalities, each with its own perspective, desires, and emotions. These parts often develop in response to life experiences, especially trauma or emotional wounds. The goal of IFS therapy is to help individuals access their "Self," a core, compassionate, and balanced part of their identity, which can then guide and heal their inner system. The therapy helps people understand, communicate with, and integrate their different parts, fostering internal harmony and emotional healing.

Eclectic

The electric style of psychotherapy, more accurately called **eclectic psychotherapy**, is a flexible therapeutic approach that draws on techniques and theories from various schools of psychotherapy, rather than relying on a single method. This style allows therapists to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each client, selecting the most effective strategies based on the client’s specific issues, personality, and preferences. For example, a therapist might combine cognitive-behavioral techniques with psychodynamic insights or mindfulness practices, aiming to address the client’s symptoms, underlying causes, and personal growth in a comprehensive way.

Psychodynamic

I had considerable training in brief psychodynamic therapy which focuses on uncovering and understanding unconscious processes that influence a person's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It aims to explore how past experiences, particularly early childhood relationships, shape current emotional conflicts and interpersonal dynamics.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that aims to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are causing people's problems, and thus change the way they feel. It focuses on challenging and altering unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and developing personal coping strategies to target current problems.
