Hello there, My name is Patricia Sosa and I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in northern California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I have extensive experience working with adults with severe mental illness, mood disorders, dual diagnosis, aging, trauma and crisis stabilization. In addition, I have worked with clients who are in the painful process of divorce and its aftermath, clients who suffer from post-partum depression, and the stressors of being a single parent. I believe in holding a safe space where you will not be judged for being vulnerable and true. During our sessions, we will become a partnership in which we work through the challenges that bring you to therapy. An individualized treatment plan will be created, and it can be modified if needed along the way.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I'll introduce myself and highlight what therapy will look like. We will discuss what brought you to therapy and how I can help. I'll tailor a treatment plan to address your specific challenges and provide information regarding how to contact me in-between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strength is that I truly love what I do. Loving my profession has given me the drive to keep learning and improving my skills while ensuring my clients feel heard, understood, important, and supported through their journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My experience is best suited for people experiencing depression, low self-esteem, and those who are working through trauma, divorce, single-parents, dual-diagnosis and relationship issues.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT for over 6 years because it gives clients power over their thoughts and helps modify their moods and behaviors based on the change in those thoughts. It is an evidence-based modality that empowers clients to move forward with new strength.

Attachment-based

Our childhood plays a big part in how as adults we perceive situations, react to those, and subconsciously view the world. Understanding how the past influences the present, clients have developed the insight to change problematic behaviors and thoughts to better their lives and relationships.
