** ACCEPTING IN-OFFICE CLIENTS ONLY. When life becomes challenging, when self-care is slipping away, or when stress and struggles seem overwhelming or paralyzing, I want you to know that you are not alone. You are stronger than you realize. You can discover (or rediscover) your “authentic self” even when it seems impossible or unsurmountable. I am here to help. Together, we can assess what your authentic needs and how to achieve them in mind, body, emotions, spirit and action. I’m here to guide, educate, and empower you. My treatment approach is one of curiosity and compassion so that during our sessions, you are free to slow down and safely practice mindfulness and self-care. Together, we will decide which types of interventions work best for you: talk therapy, faith-based, practical problem-solving, trauma-informed care, or creative techniques like art or narrative approaches. We will explore your inner thought-life through mindfulness and cognitive work. We will identify skills, strengths, and supports that can grow through patient practice between sessions. With evidence-based techniques, we will find and navigate paths so you can reclaim joy and walk in peace. I am privileged to walk alongside you during your journey. Peace and hope are possible and sustainable. You deserve to take care of yourself. You will be stronger on the other side.
** ACCEPTING IN-OFFICE CLIENTS ONLY. In the first session following intake, we will take some time to get to know each other and narrow the focus toward what brought you to sessions. We will explore current life circumstances and begin to unfold and assess the effects of past experiences. You can use the first session to set the tone and pace of the sessions to follow. Share or reserve as much as you like at your own comfort level. After your first session, I'm hopeful you will have a sense of my approach and style. Please feel free to ask any questions and present any concerns about scheduling availability you may have at this time as well so we can resolve them early on.
** ACCEPTING IN-OFFICE CLIENTS ONLY. I spent many years working directly with youth and adolescent clients. I have been blessed to work with clients from ages 3 to 83. I strive to bring education and creative approaches to my work when appropriate. I enjoy helping my clients navigate and thrive in all the “ages and stages” of life. I will humbly bring compassion, curiosity, humor, and light to journey alongside my clients as they trust me in their process.
** ACCEPTING IN-OFFICE CLIENTS ONLY. Currently, I provide individual sessions for middle and high school clients, young adults, parents, men and women. I have worked with those coping with (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, neglect/abuse, attachment concerns, adoption, physical/intellectual/cognitive limitations, safety/stability concerns, addiction, and acute crises. Working with individuals with a trauma history has become a passion of mine and I am consistently seeking out specific trainings in this area. If at any point it becomes clear that including others in your treatment would benefit you, family sessions will be recommended and integrated with your permission. Those seeking couples counseling will be referred to another trusted provider.

** ACCEPTING IN-OFFICE CLIENTS ONLY. "I think sometimes we think about the mind, body and spirit as three things, but they are really all one. It's how we live integrated lives. The mind and body can't be separated. And the spiritual aspect brings everything together to make a person whole." - Rev. David McAllister-Wilson I have been working with youth and adult clients within a Christian Counseling setting for some time now and the evidence of God's healing power is clear. This treatment option is available to anyone who is interested in growing their understanding of The Creator, their faith, or their identity as a spiritual being through The Holy Bible. If interested, you will be asked to describe your perspective of spirituality and any relevant experiences. Within this treatment lens, therapeutic recommendations are made based on your personal spiritual practices (i.e. prayer, journaling, accountability). This treatment method is recommended for those interested or ready to strengthen their biblical worldview as it applies to living and thinking as a believer.
** ACCEPTING IN-OFFICE CLIENTS ONLY. As a primary intervention of my practice, I will introduce you to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and explain its benefits in promoting overall well-being. In short, ACT is used to help acknowledge and accept your thoughts, feelings, and memories without judgment or resistance as a natural part of the human experience. Using ACT, we cultivate mindfulness and acceptance; identify and clarify your core values serving as a foundational pillar for your decision making, action and change; deepen commitment toward incremental and small actions essential for living a meaningful and fulfilling life; and develop a compassionate curiosity and acceptance of the relationship with your experiences.
