PMHNP, 2 years of experience
Hello, I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practictioner (PMHNP). I recieved my Masters Degree from Walden University and have been practicing as a NP for the past year in an In-patient and Out-patient setting. I have been in Psychiatric nursing for the past 10 years and have worked with adult clients who have depression, anxiety, mood, and personality disorders. I have also worked with many patients with addiction disorders that impact their quality of life.
In our first session together, you will be directed to complete some questionnaires. You will then be directed to our initial consult visit. We will then start introducing ourselves and getting to know each other. You will be asked a series of questions to help me understand the reason for your visit and any concerns or symptoms you have. We will also go over any family history of mental illness or suicide attempts/completed suicides since it all plays a part in your own mental health
I am a compassionate caregiver and listener. I always ask myself how would I feel if I were in their shoes. What can I do to make their life a little bit better.
I love working with people of all ages with mental health disorders who want to improve their over all quality of life. My clients are eager to improve but dont have the tools needed to make this goal a reality yet. They often have depression, anxiety, severe mood swings, poor judgement, and impulsivity. Some of my clients have increased fears and cannot even step out of their front door to go outside. All of my clients have three things in common, they feel overwhelmed and anxious and just want a better way to deal with their disorder so they can enjoy life to the fullest. If your done struggling with those nagging thoughts and feelings in your mind and your ready to move forward to the rewarding part of finally feeling mentally stable, contact me today for an initial consult and we will will start down that road together.
I provide emotional support, encouragement, and validation by actively listening to you tell me about your difficult life challenges.
