Hi there, I'm Xavier Have you ever asked yourself why am I always stressed? Or how about, why do I feel all over the place emotionally? Nobody understands what I am going through, not even my closet family and friends. Does this effect your relationships, work, health, or generally how you feel about yourself as an individual? Well be encouraged! I help everyday people manage their depression, anxiety, loneliness, feelings about themselves, and everyday stressors which occur from just living life. We'll use a holistic approach to addressing the challenges and needs in your life. I like to utilize cognitive behavioral therapy as well as a rational emotive behavior therapy approach help replace negative self-defeating thoughts with positive thoughts and feelings about yourself. I'm here to help. I understand seeking help can evoke feelings of embarrassment or fear but it's okay. You are definitely making a great choice. In our sessions together you can be confident and stress-free knowing you are in a safe space, which will allow you to heal, grow, and learn new things about yourself. I will meet you exactly where you are in life, not where you were in the past, or where your going in the future. One step at a time, one day at a time. Can't wait to work with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Do you remember that feeling you experienced when you first enrolled in a hard class in school? You weren't quite sure if you could get through it, but over time your confidence grew stronger. By the end of the course you knew you had come a long way from when you first enrolled. You probably felt empowered to do anything right? When you leave a therapy session, it is my goal you walk away knowing you have made progress. Even if it does not feel as though you have. You will walk away feeling "I can do this. I will be okay. I will be a better and stronger person." It will always be my goal for you to leave therapy with tools to be practiced

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Throughout our time working together we will utilize a wide variety of evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, task centered approach, solution-focused therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and even narrative therapy. It is essential to not use a "one-size fits all approach." I am a firm believer in utilizing the treatment modality which is best for the client.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths as a clinician are my ability to develop a strong therapeutic rapport, listening skills, problem solving, empathy, and self awareness with my clients. It takes time to develop a working relationship with a stranger. But it's my goal to make sure I create a safe space for all of my clients. Listening is another important skill of my mines. I feel it is extremely important to utilize active listening skills to hear both verbal and nonverbal communication from a client. Self-awareness and being self-aware has helped me become a better clinician. There will be times when I am not the best fit for a client. A client may need a higher level of treatment. Or they may just not feel that "connection". That is perfectly ok.
