People always ask, "Do I really need to go to therapy?" And my answer is therapy is a useful resource for everyone! Whether you are looking to work on self-exploration, would like an unbiased and objective place to process your thoughts and feelings, or want to work through unresolved trauma- or anything in between- therapy is a wonderful and useful tool! With over 18 years of experience in the field, I offer a supportive and constructive space for you to identify and work on your individualized goals. I have experience with both individuals and couples and have skills to tackle problems ranging from mental health to substance abuse. The benefit of having eclectic work experience is that I offer a wide array of mental health and substance abuse interventions. The therapeutic approaches used include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Holistic Therapy. I also have had the pleasure of working extensively with members of law enforcement and first responders making me a resource for individuals seeking support to work through and manage the inherently difficult and oftentimes traumatic nature of their jobs. Choosing the right therapist is a difficult and personal choice, one that may take some time and research. I invite you to reach out and ask questions to see if I am the right fit for you. Ultimately, my goal for anyone seeking therapy, is that you find a counselor you can connect with and find success working with.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am a firm believer that as a therapist my job is to give you space to share whatever is on your mind and provide you the feedback and skills to help navigate whatever life has thrown at you. Think of me as your tour guide through life experiences. I will provide you with a roadmap, all the tools you will need, and support as you travel along; but ultimately how you use those tools is entirely up to you. My hope is that after sessions with me you will have a comprehensive outlook on the issues at hand as well as a toolbox of interventions that you have learned and practiced in sessions; allowing you to reach goals related to your personal growth more easily.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize trauma-focused CBT interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions, and Motivational Interviewing interventions primarily. I will also include DBT and Mindfulness interventions as needed. I believe in continuously updating my therapist "toolbox" to incorporate new and effective treatment modalities so that I am able to meet clients where they are and offer the most effective care.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My ability to connect with the clients is a significant strength, allowing the individual or couple to feel comfortable enough to open up. I also pride myself on being culturally competent and aware, making the counseling environment safe, inclusive, and accessible to all backgrounds.
