What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions then work on exploring the specific challenges that brought you to therapy that you would like to work on. This will help me to create a tailored plan for us to work on moving forward. During our follow-up sessions, I will educate you on your mental health symptoms and/or diagnosis and how they can impact your thoughts and feelings. We will work on exploring your challenging thoughts and feelings, and learn strategies that can help you to manage them. I may give you tasks to work on between sessions to help you learn, practice, and grow. I will make sure that these tasks are not too overwhelming for you and work with you to meet your unique needs. As you learn strategies and apply them within your life, I will want to check in with you during sessions on how effective you feel that they are. I will want to ensure that we have found strategies that work best to meet your unique needs and that you have a proverbial toolbox of strategies to choose from at your disposal.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I am eclectic in my practice, which means that I work to tailor a treatment approach that works best to meet your unique needs. I do this by pulling from my knowledge and expertise in the following areas: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered (Rogerian) Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). You can read below to learn more about how I will use each one of these within my practice. * This approach is beneficial for all clients that receive mental health services.

I have been using a Person-Centered (Rogerian) approach for 15 years. I believe in providing a safe space where you can express yourself openly, without judgement, and where we can work together to meet and achieve your therapeutic goals.
