My name is Tina Jones-Wallace and I am a LPCC-S in the state of KY. I have been a therapist for more than 15 years and I have a well versed amount of experience in a lot of different areas. I originally worked at a community mental health center where I gained a large portion of this experience. I have been doing telehealth in some form for 3 years now. I am a therapist that wants a client to see progress in themselves and to learn techniques through counseling that makes them more equipped to better deal with barriers that are in their lives. I am very laid back and I am able to do a good job at holding people responsible for their actions in a nurturing way that does not cause more negativity in a person's life. I whole heartedly believe that no one is a diagnosis but is a human that suffers from life lessons. I like to meet my clients where they are and be a team.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
When a person starts therapy with me, we will look at your past, present, and what goals you want to set for your future. I ask for my clients to share with me whatever they are comfortable with sharing and to let me help them make connections. When a person is able to make connections to why they have certain behaviors or thoughts, it is easier to unravel these unwanted behaviors or thoughts. I am very laid back and calm, and I love to use humor as much as possible. This may not be as much in the beginning but as we get to know each other, I always work towards making sure that a client is very comfortable with me. The first session is always gathering a lot of information and the start of a great relationship with wonderful rapport building.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strengths are empathy and making sure that the client is seeing progress in their lives through therapy. This is not about feeling like you are talking to your best friend. This is about identifying the barriers in your life and how do we get over them. Sometimes we have to go around the bush to get to the fruit,, but know that we will get there. Another strength is not giving up on someone and listening to my client.
