I am so glad you are here! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) based in Texas. I received my Masters from Tarleton State University, and have been practicing for 2 years. I love helping children, teens, young adults, and parents struggling with life's toughest challenges. This includes, but is not limited to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, ADHD, relationships, substance use, and career.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
In my 14 years of experience as a certified school counselor and certified parenting instructor, I recognize that mental well-being is connected to every part of life including the physical, emotional, cultural, relational and social aspects. Through casual conversation and evidence based practices, I will empower you, help you get stronger, and find healing.
I provide children, teens, young adults and parents with a comfortable, safe, and non-judgemental environment to heal and make progress. With me you will learn tools to help cope with everyday challenges and get you back on track to a happier, healthier you.
Stephanie Chiselbrook offers therapy covered by Parkland Community Health Plan - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
I use CBT to help clients focus on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional regulation and mental well-being. Through casual conversation, we will explore together how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and how they influence each other. With children, I use a combination of CBT and play therapy techniques to help them express themselves, explore their thoughts and emotions, and work through psychological challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
Through mindfulness exercises such as focused breathing, guided imagery and meditation I help clients cultivate present-moment awareness and non-judgemental acceptance of their thoughts and feelings. I will encourage clients to incorporate mindfulness techniques in their daily lives to manage stress, improve focus, and enhance overall mental health.
