Christine Jurado

LCSW, 10 years of experience

About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working in the field for 10 years. I have experience working in various settings - outpatient mental health clinics and schools. I currently spend my time working as a School Social Worker, having a private practice and seeing clients on Grow Therapy. I believe that therapy should be collaborative and tailored to each individual.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then provide the space for you to share what brings you to therapy (recent challenges, history of trauma, etc), along with what you hope to obtain from our time together. Based on this information, I will collaborate with you on creating a plan for us to work through in the following sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Being in the field for 10 years and working with all age groups, I have learned that in order to collaborate and support a client in making progress, a strong therapeutic relationship is key.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with individuals who are adjusting to a life change - new career/job; motherhood; etc. My clients are self aware and eager to , but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their careers.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past seven years. It’s helped many of my clients, they are able to challenge reoccurring (negative) thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll practice CBT to decrease feelings of anxiety and stress.

Strength-Based

I've been using Strength-based therapy in my practice for the last 10 years. Strength-based therapy is a type of positive psychotherapy that focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than on your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. It's important that we focus on your resilience and all of positive qualities you bring.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma Informed care is the way a therapist views their clients, taking into account the impact trauma has on our emotions, thoughts and behavior. I believe wholeheartedly that it is crucial to consider the effects of intergenerational trauma, as it often impacts us more than we believe it does. Through a trauma informed lens, I am able to provide an emotionally safe environment.
