Hi! I'm a independently licensed therapist who can help patients in Michigan, Oregon, and Washington. I obtained my Masters from Indiana University and PhD from the Western Michigan University. I have been practicing for 20 years. I help adults achieve their desired mental health outcomes coping with stress, anxiety and depression and other cooccurring conditions such as substance use disorders.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am outcomes driven and I have helped many individuals to achieve their personal and professional goal by coaching them to build resilience in the face of challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I will assist you through introspection techniques to analyze your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to work out if they're unrealistic or unhelpful and to determine the effect they have on each other and on you. I will assist you to work out how to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my practice with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) I assist clients to move away from focusing too closely on ‘symptom reduction’ towards teaching how to live in a stable and rewarding way. I often coach clients on how to get in touch with their values, how to act in accordance with them, how to be aware of ‘the you that is always there’, how to experience their passing thoughts and feelings for just that, how to accept thoughts and feelings they don’t like without over-struggling with them, and so how to live mainly in the present.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my practice, the main goal in using this approach has been coaching people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

Couples Counseling

I have successfully helped intimate partners improve communication and resolve conflict through couples counseling. I have had couples tell me that my approaches were helpful way in improving their troubled relationship or strengthen a marriage/relationship. Couples counselors use various approaches to help their clients. Expect to spend time discussing specific problems, building communication skills, and developing strategies for solving problems within the relationship.
