Hi, I’m Carrie. I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Virginia and Missouri with 9 years of experience helping adults with a variety of challenges that life can sometimes throw at us. Have you struggled with anger issues, self-esteem, trauma, or even working through lifetime milestones? Together we can work to find solutions and coping skills to assist you to getting back on track and being the best version of yourself. Life is full of ups and downs and sometimes we need a little help to get back to a life of happiness and contentment. I integrate mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy skills to assist in addressing your needs and focus on living a life in line with your values. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed with work or relationships, or struggling with depression and anxiety, I am here to help. We will work together to find the best skills and solutions that work for you as an individual. Seeking help can be an intimidating process, but working collaboratively we will seek ways for you to feel better and move forward.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will discuss your concerns and needs. I will ask questions about your background to seek understanding of your life experiences. Collaboratively we will make goals to address during our sessions. Throughout our work together we will address background factors and thought processes in which contribute to current struggles and find ways to overcome those hardships and move forward with a healthy life. You can expect a respectful and non-judgmental environment in our sessions and learn techniques to improve and manage your life stressors and concerns.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize a person-centered approach along with a variety of techniques to assist you in identifying strengths and skills in which align with your values. I will incorporate mindfulness-based skills and a cognitive behavioral model to address background factors and thoughts which can keep us stuck in an unproductive cycle and at times suffering. Through challenging these past habits and thought processes, it will enable you to gain motivation to implement tools to a healthier you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is my ability to connect with my clients. I focus on the therapeutic rapport to build a collaborative relationship in which assists in motivation and utilization of skills to tackle your concerns. I provide an empathetic and nonjudgmental environment for clients in which they can share openly and feel safe.
