Hello there! I'm Azizza. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for women to process life's struggles, as well as their current and past traumas. I specialize in working with women who struggle with anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues. I have practiced in settings that allow me to be the well-rounded therapist I am today, including private practices, the university system, and residential facilities. I utilize many evidence-based practices such as person-centered therapy; I feel like every client should have the autonomy to lead where they would like to go with their treatment. We can discuss what is on your mind and your short-term/long-term goals. Cognitive-Behavioral therapy is also a must when it comes to altering your perspective. I use solution-focused therapy for clients who want a problem-solving approach to their therapeutic services. I often implement meditation, psychoeducation, and journaling during treatment.
Clients can expect the intake to consist of gathering background information. The first session will include discovering problem areas, goal setting, and treatment planning.
I believe my biggest strength is my empathetic personality. My strengths also include helping women with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and stress management. I feel like my mixed therapeutic approach makes me a unique therapist.
I am in the best position to serve adult women in the state of Georgia.
In my practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I start with a thorough assessment to identify client issues, followed by psychoeducation on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I help clients challenge negative thought patterns through cognitive restructuring, and incorporate behavioral interventions like exposure therapy. I assist the client in setting SMART goals while assigning homework to reinforce learning. I regularly review progress, adjust the treatment plan as needed, and focus on relapse prevention strategies, all while maintaining a supportive and empathetic therapeutic relationship.
When using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), I start with an assessment of the client’s trauma history and PTSD symptoms. I provide psychoeducation on PTSD, help clients identify and challenge maladaptive thoughts, and facilitate trauma processing through writing. I teach coping strategies and assign homework to reinforce learning. I regularly review progress, adjust the treatment plan as needed, and discuss relapse prevention strategies, all while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for clients to work through their trauma.
To use attachment-based training, I assess the client’s attachment history and current relationships. I educate them about attachment theory and its impact on behavior, helping them identify relationship patterns. I model secure attachment in therapy and incorporate exercises that promote emotional regulation, empathy, and communication skills. I encourage reflection on feelings in a safe environment, regularly review progress, and adjust the approach as needed to emphasize building secure attachments.
To use person-centered therapy, I create a supportive, non-judgmental environment that fosters trust. I actively listen and show empathy as clients express their thoughts and feelings. I reflect their emotions to enhance self-awareness, allowing them to lead the conversation. I like to support their autonomy and encourage self-exploration, emphasizing their capacity for growth. Finally, I regularly check in on their feelings about the process and adjust your approach to maintain a safe, affirming space.
I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) by identifying clients' goals and what they want to achieve. I focus on their strengths and use the "miracle question" to help them envision their desired future. I explore exceptions to challenges and encourage small, achievable steps. I maintain a positive tone, emphasizing progress and solutions, and celebrate small successes to motivate clients and reinforce their capacity for change.
