Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 23 years experience working with adults. I know that there can be difficult points in life that can feel unmanageable and I am here to empower you to successfully navigate these challenges. I will help you identify the counseling goals that are most important to you and find the tools you need to effectively deal with difficult situations and emotions. I focus on providing a safe and supportive space where we can collaborate to build upon your strengths, learn new skills and work toward making positive, meaningful changes.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions and then review the intake form that you completed in advance. My goal is to learn about you as a person and what specific challenges you are facing. Together we will identify your goals and lay out a treatment plan for working toward these in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am known to be a compassionate, non-judgmental and supportive therapist. I always start where you are at in your journey to healing and growth, helping you to identify meaningful, measurable and achievable goals. I recognize your existing strengths and work with you to acquire the tools and skills to build upon these.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have specialized training in CBT and have used it to successfully help clients for the past 20+ years. Clients often have unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to or perpetuate anxiety and depression and CBT is an effective treatment for changing these thought patterns and improving symptoms.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is a method that I use with all clients. I believe that everyone comes to therapy with their own strengths and abilities and my goal is to help you tap into and build upon these strengths.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT) is another method that I use frequently with clients. In addition to addressing emotional and cognitive issues, it is also helpful to accurately identify problems, evaluate possible solutions and then implement the most appropriate ones.

Humanistic

Humanistic therapy focuses on a person as an individual with unique potential and abilities and I use this with all of my clients. Instead of concentrating on what is wrong with people, I focus on existing abilities and how we can work together to promote personal growth to improve your ability to manage life's difficulties.
