I believe therapy does not have to last a lifetime. However, the best benefit comes from allowing the process the time needed to achieve the outcomes aligned with healing and change. Therapy can serve as a road to achieving the wellness everyone deserves by breaking unhealthy patterns. As a therapist I provide a safe place for self-discovery, to learn new skills, and receive non-judgmental support. I bring ten years of clinical care experience with family therapy, children/adolescents, and adults. I spent the first half of my career in community behavioral health working settings serving individuals diagnosed with serious mental health challenges. In recent years my focus has been ERP therapy for the treatment of OCD, social anxiety, and phobias. I am also available for clients struggling with depression, generalized anxiety, self-esteem, and life transitions. Oh, and I am a proud cat mom who loves Law & Order SVU and is working to reduce her Pepsi intake :) "When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside do you no harm" -African Proverb

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the initial session, you can expect to review completed assessments, expound upon responses, answer clarifying questions, as well as ask questions of me. During the next few sessions, we will discuss your history, familial structure, presenting challenges, the reason for seeking treatment, and other background information. While in therapy you can expect to receive assignments or tasks to complete between sessions. These will allow you to practice the skills learned, implement interventions, or complete exposures for the reduction of symptoms. Major gains from the therapeutic process include, but not limited to, improved insight, identification of unhealthy thinking/behavioral patterns, acquisition of coping skills, and reduction of (OCD/anxiety/phobia) symptoms.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Mindfulness Behavior Activation Self-Esteem Building

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my biggest strength is helping clients connect the dots in order to change unhealthy behavior patterns. Specifically, between their past experiences and the impact on their lives today. I also believe my strength lies in helping individuals challenge social phobia and OCD.
