Hello! I received a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University and completed my clinical training at Stanford University. I have been a licensed psychologist in California with over 18 years of clinical experience, working with diverse individuals struggling with life's stressors, hardships and obstacles. I hope to work with you and guide you to gain meaningful understanding and insight into your life by making positive changes that promote emotional and physical health. At this time, I do not treat any self-harming behaviors or thoughts, active substance use or history of psychiatric hospitalization.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an opportunity to do 2 things: 1) to determine whether we would be a good fit in starting treatment together and 2) to spend time talking to you so I can better understand your needs, struggles and goals and what you are hoping to gain from therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is creating a safe, therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust, openness and collaboration. I believe this serves as the foundation in exploring difficult or painful feelings, identifying areas of growth and making lasting changes outside of the therapeutic space that will hopefully lead to notable growth and progress.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with high-functioning, young professionals (ages 21-45) who are motivated to explore themselves in order to gain valuable insight into who they are and how they can make meaningful changes to their lives. I also greatly value working with individuals who identify as Asian/Asian-American.

My treatment methods

Interpersonal

I use an integrative approach to tailor the treatment to each client's needs and goals with a focus on exploring relationships that may be impacting our lives (relationship with ourselves, our family and friends, partner, work relationship, etc).

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my treatment, I also utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy to target negative thoughts and assumptions that may be playing a role in creating and perpetuating our emotional distress.
