Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinicial Social Worker, dually licensed in the states of IL and FL. I received my Bachelors in Behavioral Science and Art Therapy and my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I have been working in the counseling field for over 25 years! I also have a background in child welfare, in and outpatient hospitals and residential treatment. I help empower growth by guiding teens, young adults and women through depression, anxiety, stress, career and life transitions to thrive and shine.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. I will partner with you to create a plan to help support you in reaching your goals for therapy.
My greatest strengths involve my years of experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds . I have honed my building of connections, listening, communication and intuitive skills in a way that best serves my clientele. I have supported so many people in meeting their goals that those happy clients self-refer me to their friends and family members.
Attachment-based therapy focuses on understanding and improving the emotional bonds between individuals, often within relationships like parent-child or romantic partners. It involves exploring early attachment experiences and their impact on current relationships and behavior. The therapy aims to build secure, trusting connections by addressing and healing attachment wounds. Sessions typically include discussing past and present relational dynamics, enhancing emotional communication, and developing healthier interpersonal skills. The goal is to foster secure attachments and improve relational patterns for better emotional health and stability.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is conducted through structured sessions where we will work to help you to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. The process involves setting specific goals, learning to recognize and modify distorted thinking, and developing coping strategies and problem-solving skills. Clients practice these skills through exercises and assignments, both during and between sessions. The focus is on helping to foster healthier thinking patterns and behaviors to improve emotional regulation and overall well-being.
Family therapy involves working with multiple family members to address and resolve issues affecting the family unit. Sessions are typically conducted with the whole family or specific members, focusing on improving communication, understanding dynamics, and resolving conflicts. We will identify patterns of behavior and interactions that contribute to problems, and this helps to guide the entire family in developing healthier ways of relating to one another. The goal is to strengthen relationships, enhance problem-solving skills, and create a more supportive family environment.
