Hello, I am Dorrett McDonald-Lovell, a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed in Florida, New York, Colorado, Oregon, Nevada, and New Mexico. With more than 20 years of healthcare experience, I provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for individuals across the lifespan. My practice is collaborative and client-centered. I take time to understand each client’s unique concerns, strengths, goals, and treatment preferences. Services include comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy for conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mental health concerns. I strive to provide a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to participate actively in their care. My goal is to partner with each client to promote meaningful progress, improved well-being, and a better quality of life.
Your first session is a supportive, judgment-free space to discuss your concerns, symptoms, treatment history, and goals. Together, we will complete a comprehensive evaluation, explore treatment options, and create an individualized plan that may include medication management, therapy recommendations, and practical strategies for moving forward.
I support patients in taking an active role in their mental health through individualized, whole-person care. My services include comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, ongoing medication management, supportive therapy, and education.
My ideal client is an individual aged 13 and older who seeking to improve their mental health and overall well-being. They may be experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, psychoses, trauma, or adjustment difficulties that are impacting their daily functioning, relationships, or quality of life. This client is open to a collaborative, holistic approach to care, which may include medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, and supportive resources. They value a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they can express themselves freely and work toward their personal goals. My ideal client is willing to engage in the therapeutic process, attend regular appointments, and actively participate in their treatment plan. They may be seeking support for managing stress, coping with life transitions, or addressing longstanding mental health concerns. I especially welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to provide culturally sensitive, individualized care that respects each person’s unique experiences and needs.

Dorett has been a fantastic help in my journey towards better mental health. I was suffering from extreme anxiety and depression and through process I have been able to stabilize myself to a point where I enjoy things every day again and can smile.
