My name is Crystal Gee, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have worked in the Human Service field for over 20 years with the past 10 years working in Mental Health. I am well-versed in treating clients that suffer from trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral disruption, grief, anger management, mood disorders, and suicidal ideations. I focus on increasing effective solutions by increasing problem-solving skills, communication skills, social skills, self-esteem and emotional identification.
In the first session clients can expect a therapeutic environment that is welcoming, safe and compassionate.
I believe that my strength is in providing clients with a safe and relatable space to help improve skills. I enjoy teaching new skills while strengthening healthy coping skills that clients already have. My population of focus is adults, survivors of abuse, people of color, grief/loss, emotional identification, behavioral activation and increasing healthy communication/social skills.
I am a trained and certified ICBT therapist who has worked with many clients in challenging and restructuring negative thoughts. I am certified by the Beck institute where I completed an evidence based training program to be skilled in the CBT model and continue to train and study CBT tools and interventions.
I am a trained and certified TFCBT therapist who has worked with many clients in processing trauma. I completed an evidence-based training program to be skilled in the TFCBT model and continue to train and study trauma focused tools and interventions.
I am a trained and certified Parent child interactive therapist as well as a certified parenting instructor who has worked with many clients in increasing parenting skills to increase the parent child relationship. I work with the breakthrough parenting and nurturing parenting models as well as gentle parenting and love and logic parenting. I completed an evidence-based training program to be skilled in parent child therapy and continue to train and study parenting tools and interventions.
In using Mindfulness therapy, I teach clients how to focus on learning how to be more aware of thoughts, feelings, emotions, surroundings, and situations, and to reduce automatic responses. I am trained in teaching relaxation and grounding techniques to reduce symptoms.
As an evidence based trained therapist, I utilize many methods and integrate various skills to create an individualized plan to help my clients. Integrative therapy is an individualized, holistic approach to therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic methods that allow the therapist and client to develop a plan to reach treatment goals.
