It takes a special type of person to be good at therapy. My job Responsibilities as a therapist is to establishes positive, trusting rapport with patients. Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders. Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances. I meet with my clients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary. I am able to articulate and express myself clearly, and fast in picking up on my clients body language, tone of voice, and other nonverbal cues to sense what's going on with them. I am empathetic; non-judgmental; self-awareness; ethical; emotionally centered; flexible (making adjustments to therapeutic interventions to fit the client's needs); great listening skills; and kind.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Remember that the goal of the first session is for me to get to know you. I will ask about your reasons for seeking help, your history, and goals for therapy, while also explaining my approach and policies, allowing you to ask questions as well. The other important goal of the first session will be to create that atmosphere where you will be comfortable expressing yourself without fear, shame or guilt,

I want a clean who is willing to be honest about his/her thoughts, feelings, and experiences. A client who shows up on time, prepared, and ready to roll, with questions, ideas, possible plans, or whatever is in their mind or heart or both. I want a client who says or asks whatever they feel like saying or asking, without holding back, or worrying about what’s polite or “appropriate.”

Cognitive Behavior Therapy helps you become aware of certain thinking patterns that may be creating issues in your life. Looking at the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors will help you view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way. CBT can be a very helpful tool in treating many mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, also called PTSD, or an eating disorder. Sometimes CBT is the only treatment neededhelps you become aware of thinking patterns that may be creating issues in your life. Couples Counseling

I have been utilizing Couples Counseling to assist couples heal pain, rebuild trust, and improve communication. Research shows that couples who seek couples therapy increase their chance of staying together. They also improve communication and satisfaction in their relationship. My role as therapist in couples therapy is to act as an empathetic mediator that facilitates conversations, allowing each partner to openly express their feelings, concerns, and desires. Through active listening and understanding.
