I then went on to complete my Master’s in counseling and psychological services at the University of Saint Mary’s in 2021. In the past 4 years I have work in inpatient, outpatient and group settings. Having completed my practicum at the Domestic Abuse Project where I then went on to work in a outpatient setting with children, teens and adults. Currently my most recent outpatient setting has been focused in trauma informed care and transitional care. A major focus in my work has been trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, OCD and Panic Disorder and with those who have experienced domestic violence.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will meet for a 60 min consult where I will gather information. I want to make sure you and I both are a good fit because, "finding a good therapist is like finding a friend. " Not all personalities click or connect and that is okay. Therapy should be your safe space, where you can open up and that is my goal to make sure you are comfortable and that I can meet your current mental health needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It is important to me that you are getting the best version of me and I can meet you with where you are at in our sessions together. My strengths shine the most when were are having a back and fourth, studies have shown venting is a great way to externalize but the work begins when were can peel back the layers and process together. I believe my warm and friendly demeanor is one of my biggest strengths, I am here to ride along side you in your times of need and provide in skills, support and some thought challenging. Psychoeducation is another of my strengths, if you are looking for the why, what, how, when and where; together we use science based approaches that have been demonstrated in effectiveness through research and evidence.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With solution focused therapy is a goal-oriented, collaborative therapeutic approach that focuses on solutions rather than problems. It emphasizes the client's strengths and resources to achieve rapid and sustainable change. As an additional therapeutic modality, we will not just dive into the past but stay in the present.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is versatile and can be applied across various mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, and more. Its structured and goal-oriented nature makes it effective for many individuals seeking practical strategies to manage their mental health challenges.

Humanistic

Humanistic existential perspective, emphasizing on understanding each client’s human experience and focusing on goals, gaining skills for the future through search of purpose and meaning making.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

With a person centered approach to therapy, you and I work together in a collaborating and guiding relationship to build natural motivation for change and gain self-determination.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma - Focused CBT is a specialized form of cognitive behavioral therapy designed to help individuals, particularly children and adolescents, who have experienced trauma. It is structured, directive, and typically delivered over a fixed number of sessions, although the exact number can vary based on individual needs and progress. TF-CBT aims to reduce symptoms of trauma-related disorders, improve coping skills, and promote healing and resilience in those who have experienced significant adversity.
