Hello, my name is Emily! I'm a licensed clinical social worker, and I'm passionate about helping people gain the skills to cope with everyday stressors and life transitions. The majority of my practice focuses on anxiety, depression, and life transitions ranging from school, work, perinatal period, and motherhood. My approach is warm and down-to-earth. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space for clients to be themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy and obtain any background information that you think is helpful for me to know. Together, we will set clear and specific goals that help you measure your progress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I use a blend of trauma-informed CBT, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I find that my clients leave my office feeling empowered about their choices and feeling confident about the next steps on their journey.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy is my go-to intervention when my clients are feeling stuck in life. Together, we identify your strengths and barriers to live the life you want.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care means creating a safe space, whether virutal or in person. My clients are welcome to let me know what makes them feel comfortable, and whether to start, stop, or keep going with certain interventions and discussions. Trauma informed care is an ongoing part of the therapeutic relationship.

Trauma-Focused CBT

My goal with utilizing trauma-focused CBT is to gently work with my client to identify their stuck points and explore reframing their experiences. Trauma-focused CBT aims to reduce symptoms commonly associated with PTSD such as flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and low self-esteem.
