Hello, my name is Emily! I'm a licensed clinical social worker, and I'm passionate about helping people gain the skills to cope with everyday stressors and life transitions. The majority of my practice focuses on anxiety, depression, and life transitions ranging from school, work, perinatal, and motherhood. My approach is a person-centered and trauma informed lens. I believe everyone should have access to quality mental health care.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In your first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy. Together we will set clear and specific goals that help you measure your progress. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my practice, but may employ a variety of different treatment types to support you.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
As a trauma-informed therapist, Emily uses a blend of trauma-informed CBT, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She finds that her clients leave her office feeling empowered about their choices and feeling confident about the next steps on their journey.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Acceptance and commitment therapy is my go-to intervention when my clients are feeling stuck in life. Together, we identify your strengths and barriers to live the life you want.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma informed care means creating a safe space, whether virutal or in person. My clients are welcome to let me know what makes them feel comfortable, and whether to start, stop, or keep going with certain interventions and discussions. Trauma informed care is an ongoing part of the therapeutic relationship.
Trauma-Focused CBT
My goal with utilizing trauma-focused CBT is to gently work with my client to identify their stuck points and explore reframing their experiences. Trauma-focused CBT aims to reduce symptoms commonly associated with PTSD such as flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and low self-esteem.
