Hello, I'm Kimberly Mula, Psy.D. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals utilizing a collaborative approach to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients where concerns can be explored, individual strengths can be recognized, and personal growth can occur. I recognize and acknowledge the initial steps of seeking therapy can be confusing while also empowering. With this in mind, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows individuals to explore obstacles with concerns related to Autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and self-care. I understand how complicated life can be and how overwhelming it can become when you or a loved one struggles. I understand the importance of early identification, assessment, and intervention. I believe change occurs with the assistance and support of family, friends, and significant others. Together, we will identify your challenges and goals. We will collaborate to identify options and strategies you can use to meet these goals. I have received a Master's Degree and a Doctoral Degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University. Throughout my 20-year career, my training and work experiences varied to include community mental health, intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, as well as working in the foster care system. These experiences have prepared me to advocate for my clients and provide culturally diverse and evidence-based treatments.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, we will focus on building a positive and comfortable relationship while I gather historical information and understand your current symptoms. I create a safe space where you can discuss your concerns without fear of judgment. By the end of the session, I want to work with you to create initial treatment goals and offer supportive recommendations. After meeting with me, I want you to feel safe, respected, and hopeful.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My strengths as a therapist include my client-centered approach to treatment. I actively listen to my client's concerns and work with them to reach their goals. I enjoy being creative in therapy, using individualized interventions and humor to help clients identify their strengths while instilling hope.
