I am a HAES-oriented clinician who is passionate about helping others get better at feeling, not just feeling better. Our emotions can feel overwhelming, and as result we might avoid them altogether, using unhelpful behaviors to cope which can then make you feel more overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed. My goal is to help you identify, accept, and understand the difficult internal experiences so that you may take meaningful action in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will start with brief introductions and exploring your concerns and motivations for change. I will do my best to answer any questions or concerns you might have about the process; this will help me ensure your treatment is best tailored to you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It is a priority of mine to create a space which is warm, compassionate, and nonjudgemental, so that you can do the challenging emotional work while feeling supported. I pull from various modalities (psychodynamic, CBT/DBT, and solution focused), and would consider myself to be experiential at heart. My understanding of change is inspired by Virginia Satir: Positive change can occur as individuals unlock their authentic self, accepting ways our individuality is what makes us thrive and confronting unhelpful patterns.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my work at higher levels of care, the primary modality used was very much DBT/CBT based and while the primary treatment focus there is eating disorders, this model is research based for anxiety, addiction, depression, and OCD as well.
