What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will provide empathic support as we discuss your situation, needs, and what you would like to get out of therapy. We may also discuss behaviors and strategies to start trying between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My clients feel well supported and report being able to make impactful change. In my 20 years experience, I have gained knowledge and insight that translates into compassionate, effective care helping you move forward with intention.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I like to use ACT in my practice to help clients intentionally create the future they desire by using personal values to inform our work and the client's path forward. ACT is evidence-based and flexible.

Integrative

While there are particular counseling theories I utilize often, I believe in an integrative approach that is tailored to the unique needs of each client. Pulling in various theories and strategies provides flexible yet effective care that is centered around each person's unique strengths and needs. Many situations involve an element of grief (due to loss of job, relationships, expectations). Examples of what we will flexibly utilize based on what works for you: ACT, CBT, Somatic, Person-Centered Supportive, MIndfulness, Grief Counseling.

Supportive

Supportive therapy provides you with compassionate care, tailored to your needs. It allows moving through various models and strategies with flexibility.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In CBT, we start with some behaviors that may help alleviate symptoms relatively soon. We then explore your thoughts and how these thoughts impact your feelings and your day-to-day. We explore alternatives ways of thinking about situations so your coping improves.

Somatic

Somatic therapy takes the focus out of the head, and into the body. It includes tuning into and understanding your body's reactions to stress, and strategies to help release stuck emotions and past experiences. It includes calming the body and mind.
