Safiyah Davis- Rosario

LCSW, 12 years of experience

About me

Hi there! My name is Safiyah and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a wealth of experience. I hold a license in the State of Florida. I am from New Jersey and I received my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University in New York. I have been practicing for over 15 years. My goal is to meet my clients where they are to help move them forward. I have experience working with clients with diagnosed mental health ailments down to those just seeking to "find themselves". No task is too big or too small. I have watched people grow tremendously under my care in ways that they could never imagine, but I did.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will be focused on me beginning to obtain a general history of you and getting to understand your interpretation of your concerns. I will also inquire as to what you'd like to accomplish in therapy as well.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am always told that I am extremely easy to talk to. Many people are shocked that they divulge so much information to me because they are comfortable and just go! I get things and I understand things that most people do not.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I can work with anyone. I have worked with mandated clients not wanting to do any counseling up to very difficult clients. Those who could acknowledge the need for change.

Serves ages

Teenagers (13 to 17)

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find that CBT works extremely well in every aspect of our lives because it looks at, and evaluate our thinking processes and how they impact our behavior which I believe is essential in why we make the decisions that we make

Couples Counseling

I am very experienced in facilitating couples counseling with either one or both parties in the relationship. With one person, I explore their role in the relationship and how it impacts both people. The key in this is that when one person makes changes, the other either adapts to it or not, allowing that person to evaluate where they stand in the relationship to make a decision as to what they do next.

Eclectic

I am able to adapt to the needs of the patient and continuously evaluate the needs of the patient. If one treatment modality does not work, we move on to something different, or simply mix them all.
