I am a dedicated psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 12 years total of experience in mental health care. I specialize in treating clients of all ages facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and insomnia. I chose this profession because I am passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges and find hope and healing. Having personally experienced the transformative impact of proper mental health care, I understand the importance of individualized, compassionate treatment. My goal is to provide a supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to achieve their mental health goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where we’ll focus on getting to know each other and understanding your unique story. I’ll ask questions about your current challenges, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and goals for treatment to build a comprehensive picture of your needs. This session is also a chance for you to share what’s most important to you and what you hope to achieve through our work together. I’ll explain my approach to care, answer any questions you have, and collaborate with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. Most importantly, my goal is to ensure you feel comfortable, heard, and empowered as we begin your journey toward better mental health.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider include my open-mindedness, empathy, and dedication to personalized care. I approach each patient without judgment, creating a safe space where they feel understood and supported. My open-mindedness allows me to explore innovative and individualized solutions tailored to each person’s unique needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care. I also bring years of experience from various settings, and a strong commitment to evidence-based practices, blending proven treatments with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. My ability to actively listen, collaborate, and adapt fosters trust and empowers my patients to take an active role in their mental health journey. These strengths help me build meaningful connections and achieve lasting results with those I serve.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve clients who are ready to take an active role in their mental health journey and are open to exploring new ways of thinking and living. My ideal clients are individuals who may feel stuck or overwhelmed but are motivated to create meaningful change in their lives. These include those struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, or insomnia, as well as veterans and individuals with treatment-resistant conditions seeking fresh approaches. I thrive in working with clients who are willing to engage in honest reflection, embrace evidence-based treatments, and commit to small, consistent steps toward growth. By fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, I help clients harness their strengths, develop practical strategies, and find hope in the process of transformation.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I prefer to use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) because it empowers patients to focus on their strengths and envision the positive changes they want to achieve. While understanding the problem is important, I believe it’s only part of the solution. SFBT encourages patients to identify what’s already working in their lives and build on those successes to create meaningful, actionable goals. This forward-thinking approach fosters hope, resilience, and quicker progress, allowing patients to take an active role in their own growth and healing.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I choose to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it is a highly effective, evidence-based approach that helps patients understand and change the patterns of thinking and behavior contributing to their struggles. CBT empowers individuals to challenge negative thoughts, develop healthier coping strategies, and gain greater control over their emotional responses. I value how it provides patients with practical tools they can use in their daily lives, fostering long-term resilience and improved mental well-being. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, CBT promotes meaningful, lasting change.
