I am a Professional Counselor licensed in Virginia, Montana, Washington and Wyoming. Over the past 20 years, opportunities from working at a home for teen parents and their babies, in schools K-12 and higher education, at an eating disorder center, as a grief bereavement and hospice counselor, and as a counselor internationally, have allowed me the privilege of developing a breadth and depth of experience in supporting clients as they change, grow, and adapt throughout their lives.
Come as you are. You may notice some discomfort, as therapy is a big thing to do for yourself and sometimes we have parts of us that discount or minimize taking care of ourselves. And perhaps some relief in taking the next step forward, doing the next good thing for you.
Honoring each individual, understanding there is no one way or "right" way. Building on client strengths, encouraging curiosity and embodied awareness / connection with self.
Through the uncertainty and discomfort, there continues to be an ability to tune into your wise self that is open to support.
Grow in Connection, Trust & Sturdiness in Self: My hope is to join you in broadening the understanding of self and strengths -- building confidence, connection and tuning into the knowledge within you. Together we meet feelings, narratives, patterns and roles with curiosity & compassion. Build capacity for uncertainty & healthy coping as we learn and understand the context in which roles & reactions were cultivated. Align next steps (just the next) with values.
