LCSW, 8 years of experience
Hi, I’m Marquel T. Jones, LCSW — but feel free to call me Quel. Life can be a lot—especially when you’re trying to figure out who you are, where you're going, or how to keep it all together. Whether you’re feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected, or just not like yourself, therapy can help you slow down, realign, and reconnect. With over 7 years of experience, I support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship challenges, career pressure, and identity exploration. I also specialize in working with individuals navigating complex systems like the juvenile justice space, helping them heal and rewrite their story. I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can show up fully—confused, curious, hopeful, or overwhelmed. Together, we’ll build tools for clarity, confidence, and long-term emotional wellness. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to show up.
Our first session is all about connection. You can expect a laid-back, nonjudgmental space where you can talk freely—no pressure, no performative “therapy voice.” I’ll ask questions to understand what’s bringing you in, where you feel stuck, and what you’re hoping to work through. We’ll start mapping out a path forward—but there’s no rush. The goal is for you to leave feeling heard, grounded, and a little more hopeful. Just come as you are. That’s more than enough.
I bring presence, honesty, and deep empathy into every session. I don’t just listen—I really hear you. My clients often tell me they feel a sense of safety and connection that lets them open up and finally breathe. I adapt to your needs, whether that means using humor, mindfulness, narrative work, or just holding space. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s flexible, creative, and centered on you as a whole person—not a diagnosis or a checklist.
I work with people going through transitions, identity shifts, emotional burnout, or just the quiet ache of feeling disconnected. Whether you’re navigating school, relationships, work, or life after a tough chapter—this space is for you. I support folks dealing with anxiety, depression, people-pleasing, low confidence, family dynamics, and the pressure to “have it all together.” I’ve also worked with clients impacted by systems like juvenile justice and bring a trauma-informed lens to every session. But no matter your story, my goal is the same: to help you come home to yourself. You don’t have to explain everything perfectly. Just bring your truth—we’ll start there.
I have extensive experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviors. In practice, I collaborate with clients to set goals, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and teach practical skills such as relaxation techniques and problem-solving. I use behavioral experiments and exposure therapy to confront fears and reduce avoidance. Regular assessment ensures interventions are tailored to each client's needs.
With a strong foundation in the mind-body approach, my experience as a therapist is deeply rooted in fostering holistic healing and wellness. By integrating techniques that acknowledge the interconnectedness of thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical sensations, I empower clients to navigate their personal journeys toward greater self-awareness and resilience. Through mindfulness practices, somatic experiencing, expressive arts therapy, and lifestyle interventions, I facilitate a process of exploration and growth that honors the body's wisdom and promotes healing on multiple levels. My therapeutic approach emphasizes the importance of cultivating present-moment awareness, fostering emotional regulation, and nurturing self-care practices that support overall well-being.
In sessions, I use motivational interviewing (MI) to deeply engage with you, understanding your desires, struggles, and goals without judgment. Through empathetic listening, thoughtful questions, and affirmations, we work together to uncover your intrinsic motivations for change. By gently exploring any uncertainties and highlighting the gaps between where you are and where you want to be, we can collaboratively develop a roadmap towards achieving your aspirations. This approach fosters a supportive environment where you feel empowered and motivated to make meaningful changes aligned with your values.

I was on the call on a page that said waiting for your therapist to join you and that did not happen. I waited for 15 minutes and the therapist never showed up. Now I am being billed said the therapist was there and waited 15 minutes for me. This is my second negative experience with your company.
