Hi! I'm a board-certified psychiatrist on adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. I have MD and PhD degrees. I have more than 30 years academic, research and clinical experiences in genetics and clinical psychiatry. I had worked at Yale University for more than 17 years, and I was an assistant professor at Yale New Haven hospital. I help child, adolescent and adults who are struggling with stresses in their lives, academy and careers. My job services include evaluating patients, diagnosing all sorts of mental disorders, developing treatment plans. I treat patients by providing psychotherapy and prescribing and administering medications. I also collaborate with other professionals and offer culturally sensitive therapies and educations to the patients and their families.
Your first appointment will usually be 45 mins–1.5 hours long. You will be asked about your concerns and symptoms. You will be asked for a complete list of your current medications, in addition to psychiatric medications. You will be asked for a list of any and all psychiatric medications you might have tried in the past, including how long you took them, and any side effects from taking these medications, You will be asked for the past inpatient or outpatient treatment histories, substance use history, the emotional, physical and sexual trauma histories, family history of psychiatric issues, medical history, legal history, and another other information possible related to your concerns. For the child and adolescent clients, in addition to the above information, the child's age and the likelihood of disorders occurring at that age will be considered. The young patients' detailed behaviors, reactions, and ability to relate to the caregivers will be observed. If indicated and consented by the guardians, the school, the child protect service or other personals or facilities will be contacted to get collateral information. At the end of your session, the medication management, options for treatment will be discussed at the end of your session. A treatment plan may consist of medication options, referrals for psychotherapy, level of care needed, for example, if more intensive care is needed to appropriately address your symptoms, options to find an appropriate treatment program will be discussed, any recommended labs or procedures such as baseline tests prior to starting medications or tests to rule out any possible medical conditions that may contribute to symptoms.

I love working with all aged patients, especially child and adolescent and their families. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their life stress. I also help the individuals having mental health related to forensic issues by applying my forensic and psychiatric expertise.

Attachment-based therapy is a brief, process-oriented form of psychotherapy. The patient-family relationship is based on developing or rebuilding trust and centers on expressing emotions. An attachment-based approach to therapy looks at the connection between an infant’s early attachment experiences with primary caregivers, usually with parents, and the infant’s ability to develop normally and ultimately form healthy emotional and physical relationships as an adult. Attachment-based therapy aims to build or rebuild a trusting, supportive relationship that will help prevent or treat mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented type of talk therapy. It can help manage most of the mental illness such as depression and anxiety, and emotional concerns, such as coping with grief or stress, PTSD, eating disorder, or personality disorders.
Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is a therapy model for children aged younger than 5 year old who have traumatic experiences such as maltreatment, the sudden or traumatic death of someone close, a serious accident, sexual abuse, exposure to domestic violence) and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The primary goal of CPP is to support and strengthen the relationship between a child and his/her caregiver, it also incooperates the cultural norms and socioeconomic and immigration-related stressors. The treatment is based in attachment, psychodynamic, developmental, trauma, social learning, and cognitive behavioral theories. Therapeutic sessions include the child and parent or primary caregiver. Treatment involves weekly hour-long sessions.
