Hello, I’m Tina, a licensed clinical social worker with a passion for trauma-informed therapy. I specialize in supporting young adults, including many from Asian backgrounds, who are navigating anxiety, depression, cultural pressures, and significant life transitions. Using evidence-based approaches like EMDR and DBT, I work collaboratively with clients to uncover their inner strengths, build resilience, and cultivate self-compassion. My goal is to guide you toward meaningful, lasting change so you can live a more empowered and authentic life.
In our first session, we’ll establish a safe and welcoming space where you can share your story openly. We’ll discuss your goals and challenges, and I’ll explain how trauma-informed therapy can support your healing journey. Together, we’ll begin to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
I bring a compassionate, trauma-informed approach that honors each client’s unique story and cultural background. My ability to build trust and create a safe, supportive space allows clients to explore their challenges openly. Using EMDR, DBT, and mindfulness, I guide clients toward healing, emotional balance, and personal growth.
I specialize in working with young adults, especially those from Asian backgrounds, who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, or cultural expectations. If you are navigating identity struggles, family pressures, or major life changes, I provide a supportive, culturally sensitive space to help you find clarity and healing.
In my therapeutic practice, I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a comprehensive approach that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness principles. Working with individuals, I emphasize the development of emotional regulation skills, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. Through the implementation of DBT strategies, I guide clients in building resilience and fostering positive behavioral changes, empowering them to navigate life's challenges with increased self-awareness and effective coping mechanisms.
In my therapy practice, I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a therapeutic approach to help clients process and alleviate distressing experiences. Using EMDR, I guide clients through a structured eight-phase protocol, which involves identifying target memories, negative beliefs, and associated emotions. During bilateral stimulation, typically through guided eye movements, clients engage in the reprocessing of these memories, facilitating the integration of more adaptive information and reducing the emotional charge. This method aims to help clients overcome the impact of trauma and distress, promoting psychological healing and resilience. Regular assessment and collaboration with clients ensure that the EMDR process aligns with their unique therapeutic goals and needs.

Tina really made me feel comfortable from the start of the session which made me feel open to share. She slowed me down and accessed my strength by asking me questions related to what I've already done, and provided me reframe and tangible next steps I can use. She really validated my experiences and feelings by giving it language and a "bigger picture" of my process. She explained EDMR to me as well and its benefits and side effects which was helpful.
