LPCC, 6 years of experience
Welcome, I am happy you are here. My name is Dr. Carlee (she/her), a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California. With a passion for fostering growth and empowerment, my practice is anything but conventional. I'll be your therapist with tattoos, bright hair, and my cat companion. Our work together will be all about you—centering on your needs, values, and journey. We'll explore your challenges and strengths in a space that welcomes you as you are with the goal of continued growth. If you are looking for a space that embraces you as you are without all the professional pressures, I might be the therapist for you.
I know from my own experience, starting therapy can be this weird mix of emotions. The last thing we need is to enter an overly professional space. That doesn't leave you excited to come back for your next session! I recommend getting a comfort item, your favorite drink or snack, and just be ready to tell me about you. I encourage you to spend a little time before our session thinking about what you would like out of therapy, and how you want support. I like to remind people too that they can use this first session (and sessions after) to get to see if I am a good fit for you. Your time in therapy is about you and you deserve an experience that you are comfortable and happy with.
As a therapists, one of my strengths are that I am going to do the work with you. I am also not perfect. I want to provide you with the best care that I can and I will be committed to my own growth, self development, and critical awareness. With that, you are always able to give me feedback about how I am showing up for you. Last, I am not an expert on you. I won't try to tell you what is best for you, or tell you how to handle what you are experiencing. Instead, I will explore with you, help you to find tools that are personalized, and empower you to handle things in a way that aligns with your experiences and who you are.
Over the past 6 years, I've immersed myself in Southern California's community mental health, specializing in children, older teens, and young adults. I have a particular passion for working with individuals who are navigating anxiousness, depressive feelings, and self-esteem challenges. My job as a therapist will to be to get to know you in a holistic way, understanding what your needs are, and how you want to utilize the therapy space. We will be able to discuss barriers, struggles, and whatever else may be impacting you. My role is to accompany you on this journey, providing support and helping you discover personalized tools to address your concerns.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, short-term psychotherapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional regulation and develop personal coping strategies. During CBT treatment, we collaborate to identify areas for growth and help find ways that are authentic to address thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you. Once we have established a strong connection and you are feeling comfortable within session, we will work together to address areas for growth, deconstruct them, and develop skills that best suite your need and addressing those skills.
No one person is the same, and all of our experience are different. Taking just one approach to therapy sometimes doesn't work for a person. My goal is to take an integrated approach to therapy with the people I work with. Together we will discuss and discover what works well for you, and how I can support you. Therapy will feel like something you co-created with me, and you have a say in it!

Carlee is the best therapist I've ever had. I feel like she genuinely cares about me and my issues and always tries to help me find solutions or to look at things in a different light in the best way. She's helped me find the strength to continue going and that I'll always have someone to talk to on anything without judgement.
