Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have over 20 years of experience and I absolutely love my work. I help clients get through the bumps in life and learn how to cope with the changes that come in life. This can mean a transition such as a break-up or the loss of a loved one. You may be moving or starting a new job. Life comes with change. That is inevitable. This can be difficult for humans, sometimes life moves faster than our brains. I've gone through it myself and I am glad to say therapy can help.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I have a warm and empathic approach to therapy that is centered around your needs. I use evidence based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This can help decrease the negative thoughts that won't go away. Research has found when used consistently it is better than medication. I also use mindfulness to help decrease stress and anxiety.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have experienced depression, trauma, grief and breast cancer. I know from personal experience how this affects your mind and body. I can bring my personal experiences into therapy to help you get through this difficult time in your life. I have a safe and non-judgmental environment. Now is the time to make that call, I am listening.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
Are you feeling stressed out, depressed or anxious? If you answered yes, you aren't alone. Studies have found there has been an increase in anxiety and depression since the pandemic. I have created a safe and empathetic environment where you can learn some new coping strategies and let go of unhealthy relationship patterns. Research has found the longer trauma, depression and anxiety go untreated the worse it will get. You can learn how to put yourself first. I don't mean this in a selfish way. You can create balance in your life and have healthy relationships. You can also learn healthy self-care and self-compassion.
