Hi! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have over 20 years of experience and I absolutely love my work. I help clients get through the bumps in life and learn how to cope with the changes that come in life. This can mean a transition such as a break-up or the loss of a loved one. You may be moving or starting a new job. Life comes with change. That is inevitable. This can be difficult for humans, sometimes life moves faster than our brains. I've gone through it myself and I am glad to say therapy can help.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I have a warm and empathic approach to therapy that is centered around your needs. I use evidence based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This can help decrease the negative thoughts that won't go away. Research has found when used consistently it is better than medication. I also use mindfulness to help decrease stress and anxiety.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have experienced depression, trauma, grief and breast cancer. I know from personal experience how this affects your mind and body. I can bring my personal experiences into therapy to help you get through this difficult time in your life. I have a safe and non-judgmental environment. Now is the time to make that call, I am listening.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have a warm and empathic approach. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It is a well researched method. Studies have found when it is used consistently it can be better than an anti-depressant. I have seen it work on my clients and myself. It can help decrease depression and anxiety. It helps you take a closer look at how your thoughts directly affect how you feel. You will notice the results almost instantly.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have been using this treatment for over 10 years. It is a well researched method that helps decrease stress, anxiety and depression. I have seen it work for my clients and myself. In our fast paced society you need to stop and let your mind and body relax. Mindfulness helps you stay in the present, so, you don't feel so overwhelmed with life.

Grief Therapy

The loss of a loved one is similar to the feelings you experience when you experience trauma. Grief therapy can help you process the loss and move into acceptance. Don't get me wrong it takes time to accept what has happened. I lost my mom is 2018 and I don't know how I would have gotten through it without going to grief counseling. Now I get to help people process their grief. I have created a safe and empathic environment for my clients.
