Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in the southeast United States. I received my Masters from Asbury Seminary and my Bachelors from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and have been practicing in the mental health world for 11 years. I have worked in several settings from crisis work with kids and adolescents to individual work with adults to couples counseling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session, my primary goal is that you and I both can determine if we are a good fit for each other on this journey. Therapy is a deeply personal and vulnerable experience so I want to make sure you feel like I'm the person you want to bring along. We'll spend some time getting to know each other and exploring what your goals are.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm a patient therapist who is willing to go at your speed. Your goals are my goals, and I'm not afraid to push when the time is right to get you to where you've decided you want to go. I am a self-professed nerd and so care deeply about staying up to date on the most relevant research and therapy modalities so I can help you with the best possible tools. I'm always learning and passing that along to my clients.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

It's all about attachment! I can't seem to get away from attachment work even if a client's primary presenting problem seems totally unrelated. Attachment sets our template for how we view the world, relationships, and ultimately, ourselves. Attachment- based models lead us to a place where we can explore why we do what we do and how we might begin to shift that way of being if it's not working for us anymore.

Christian Counseling

Faith is a huge factor in many of our lives. I find that incorporating an individual or couple's faith as part of therapy strengthens the effectiveness and deepens the healing. I specifically sought out integrated training in faith and mental health in my master's program.

EMDR

EMDR is a model I use to help clients who have experienced trauma and are suffering from the impact of those experiences in the present. This model is structured and utilizes both cognitive and somatic intervention. EMDR is highly effective especially when paired with parts work.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I work with couples (and individuals) using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and parts work. I create a safe space to delve into the hardest parts of your relationship and find each other again. We will explore how emotion and emotional regulation are keys to experiencing ourselves and our partners in new ways. The goal is a stronger, deeper, more connected bond with your partner.
