Hi! I am Alejandra Escobedo and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I support teens and adults who have experienced trauma, are navigating life transitions (immigration, breakups, starting college), or who struggle with anxiety find their way and heal. The majority of my experience is in working with individuals with significant life stressors. I use different methods such as EMDR and CBT to address client's goals.
When we first meet, you will tell me about your history, life experiences, strengths, weaknesses, amongst other important details about you. In our next few sessions, we will discuss your goals for therapy and what the plan for therapy will look like.
I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. Here, you will be in a non-judgmental zone where you can truly be yourself and unpack all that you've been carrying with you. I will be here to listen to your feelings, challenge your unhelpful thoughts, and guide you towards change.
I enjoy working with clients who are feeling constantly overwhelmed, on-edge, anxious, or who who have difficulty with their relationship with their loved ones. My clients are often at a breaking point, have had their life turned upside down, or just feel like their mind is going to explode. Life's obstacles can cause us to feel stuck; I am here to support you to bring peace back into your life.
I am a EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist. EMDE uses bilateral stimulation and uses less talk therapy than other methods. I utilize EMDR with individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, low-self esteem, and more.
I use motivational interviewing with clients who have depression, low-self esteem and more.
I use cognitive behavior therapy to address the inner critic in the mind, change thinking patterns, decrease unhelpful behaviors, and improve overall well being.
