Hello, I am Lanelle. Are you ready to embrace your healing journey and find meaning in the story of your life? Have you experienced trauma in your life and grasping for hope to fully overcome it? If so, I am ready to assist you! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Ohio and have been practicing for 15 years. I specialize in treating trauma (sexual, emotional, relational, betrayal, birth & body), complex grief, inner child wounds, mother and father wounds, attachment issues, sex-related issues, women's issues, and perinatal/postpartum care. I enjoy helping women learn to tell their stories no matter how traumatic or painful they may be while also helping them to fully embrace who they are and who they're meant to be as women. You were made to be someone special and walk in the fullness of the light within you and I want to help you tap into that light and gain freedom! You are more than your trauma and your story does not define you! If you have experienced any kind of trauma, abandonment, betrayal, divorce, or abuse, or if you are a pregnant woman needing support in your birthing journey, I want to help you. Sharing your story and seeking help is a huge undertaking, but I want to walk alongside you and help you be your healed self with the help of Christ. So if you are ready, let's get started on your healing journey!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session we will go over my expectations for therapy and what treatment will look like as well as client's expectations and presenting concerns. We will review client's history, symptoms, and functioning as well as basic background information. We will establish rapport and trust to help build a solid counseling foundation. I also go over informed consent and safety precautions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a bonafide trauma-therapist. I love teaching about trauma and I love helping people get free from trauma using person-centered and mind-body-spirit techniques. I have learned that trauma tends to get people disconnected from others, the world, and their bodies so helping my clients get back connected and integrated in those areas is highly important to me. I am strong in the areas of helping clients confront false or negative beliefs as well as getting them more connected with truth. I love helping clients see how their internal worlds are comprised and how to navigate triggers and traumatic experiences.

My treatment methods

Somatic

Incorporating how the body works and how using body awareness to move forward in healing is essential to my practice methods. I specialize in helping clients get in tune with their bodies, encourage client to talk about what they experience in their bodies, and teach clients how to care for their bodies. I have been using somatic techniques for 3-4 years.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I have experience using IFS therapy for the last 7 years. I love helping clients understand how various parts within their system can lead to mental, emotional, or psychological distress as well as how to unburden those parts and live more freely.

Integrative

I have used integrative approaches for the last 7 years focusing on various modalities and treatment across treatment or within one session. I can blend visualization, meditation, tapping, mindfulness, IFS, and art into one activity or technique.

Attachment-based

I help clients understand how their attachments to primary care figures growing up impacts how they are able to attach to others in their present day interactions. I also help client understand attachment styles and how they relate to other people.

Christian Counseling

I have treated many Christian clients and love helping to integrate biblical or Christian-based principals into understanding challenges, behaviors, and interpersonal struggles.
