I am a mental health and substance abuse professional specializing in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help individuals manage and overcome emotional and psychological challenges. My practice integrates several advanced therapeutic methods, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). With DBT, I assist clients in developing skills for managing emotions, improving interpersonal relationships, and enhancing overall well-being. Through EMDR, I guide individuals in processing and healing from trauma, aiming to reduce the impact of distressing memories on their daily lives. Using IFS, I help clients explore and understand their internal parts, fostering internal harmony and self-compassion. My approach is tailored to meet each client's unique needs, combining these methods to provide comprehensive and personalized care. Whether working through trauma, managing emotional dysregulation, or seeking personal growth, I am committed to supporting clients on their journey to healing and self-discovery.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session the client will be able to be their authentic self without fear of judgement or ridicule. At their own comfort level they will have the opportunity to speak freely and openly about their concerns. Information will be gathered about their background and presenting problems. They will receive explanation of therapy approaches that will be used and expectations will be set and agreed upon in reference to building a therapeutic alliance.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have seamless integrated approach with the use of different treatment methods. CBT effective therapeutic approach for a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The core principle of CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and changing negative or distorted thought patterns can lead to changes in emotions and behaviors.

Couples Counseling

My approach to couple counseling generally involves several key elements: Understanding Each Partner's Perspective: The therapy process begins with understanding each partner's experiences, needs, and concerns. This helps in gaining a comprehensive view of the relationship dynamics and identifying underlying issues. Improving Communication: A significant focus is on enhancing communication skills. Couples often learn techniques to express their needs and feelings more effectively, listen actively, and resolve misunderstandings constructively. Addressing Conflicts: Therapy helps couples address and manage conflicts in a healthier way. This involves learning conflict resolution strategies and understanding each other's viewpoints to find mutually acceptable solutions. Exploring Underlying Issues: Often, relationship issues are linked to deeper, individual concerns or past experiences. Therapy can help uncover these underlying factors and address them to improve the relationship. Setting Goals: Couples work together to set specific goals for their relationship. These goals could involve improving intimacy, enhancing mutual support, or making decisions about the future. Building Relationship Skills: Therapy often includes exercises and activities designed to strengthen the relationship, such as increasing emotional intimacy, fostering trust, and enhancing teamwork. Homework Assignments: Similar to individual therapy, couples may be given assignments to practice new skills or engage in activities that promote connection between sessions. Creating a Safe Space: Ensuring that the therapy environment is safe and non-judgmental is crucial. Each partner should feel heard and respected throughout the process.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I Encourage clients to practice mindfulness exercises to increase awareness and presence. Incorporate mindfulness activities into sessions and assign them as homework. I Teach clients strategies like self-soothing, distraction techniques, and radical acceptance to manage crises effectively. I Use DBT’s emotion regulation skills to help clients identify and manage their emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and reduce emotional vulnerability. I Support clients in improving their communication skills, setting boundaries, and navigating relationships effectively.

EMDR

I use EMDR as a complementary approach combine with other therapeutic modalities to address both the trauma and cognitive distortions

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I recognize that each person has different parts or subpersonalities, each with its own needs and roles. In doing this I help the client connect with and understand their parts and address internal conflicts. As a result this fosters self- compassion and self- awarness
